mediBalance® STAT
Taking statins not only affects our cholesterol levels, but also the absorption, utilization and excretion of the body's own substances, vitamins and trace elements. This can lead to a change in the nutrient balance of, for example, vitamin D, selenium, coenzyme Q10 and individual B vitamins.
Statins can also affect muscle and nerve function and lead to fatigue. A balanced vitamin D level is particularly essential when taking statins, as vitamin D plays an important role in maintaining normal muscle function. Niacin is also needed, as the water-soluble vitamin from the B vitamin group supports energy metabolism and plays a role in reducing tiredness and fatigue.
Selenium helps the body protect cells from oxidative stress. Coenzyme Q10 exists in 2 forms, ubiquinone and ubiquinol. Ubiquinone (non-active coenzyme Q10) is converted into the active form ubiquinol in the body.
The ubiquinol form contained no longer needs to be activated in the organism. The water-soluble B vitamins B1, B2 and B6 support the organism in the normal functioning of the nervous system.
