- The medicine belongs to the group of throat painkillers (local anesthetics).
- It is used for the short-term local treatment of sore throats caused by non-purulent infections.
- Always take this medicine exactly as directed. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
- Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is:
- Adults take 1 tablet every 2 hours.
- A maximum daily dose of 6 tablets must not be exceeded.
- Do not use this medicine for more than 3 days without medical advice.
- Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the medicine is too strong or too weak.
- If you take more of the medicine than you should: Contact a doctor or pharmacist immediately. If a very large number of tablets are used, a lidocaine overdose is possible. This can cause symptoms such as restlessness, dizziness, nausea, hearing and vision problems, as well as problems with the coordination of movements. Severe lidocaine overdoses can lead to seizures, unconsciousness, respiratory and circulatory failure.
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Continue treatment as described (dissolve one tablet in the mouth every 2 hours) (with a maximum daily dose of 6 lozenges).
- Effects when treatment with the medicine is stopped: No effects are known so far.
