Siberian ginseng extract, Korean red ginseng extract, Ginseng FERMENTURA. Ginseng Combination with Fermented Red Ginseng Extract, Siberian Ginseng Extract and B Vitamins

Ginseng is one of the oldest plants in the world and has been valued for thousands of years. Because its root tuber with the protruding root branches is visually reminiscent of arms and legs and resembles a small human, it was also given the nickname "human root". Botanically, ginseng and ivy belong to the same plant family Araliaceae. Both types of ginseng are classified as adaptogens.

Siberian ginseng extract, Korean red ginseng extract, Ginseng FERMENTURA. Fermented Korean Red Ginseng Extract (Panax Ginseng)

• Panax ginseng is often referred to as true ginseng and contains the most ginsenosides. Ginsenosides are "soapy" substances that are only found in the root of ginseng.

• Good quality ginseng is prohibitively expensive, due to the fact that it is traditionally grown for up to 7 years before being harvested. This is the only way to achieve the full, balanced nutrient profile. An earlier harvest leads to an incomplete nutrient content. Fermentation can mimic this aging process in a fraction of the time and at a lower cost.

• The roots contain ginsenosides (so-called saponins, which protect the plant from germs), essential oils, phytoalexins (plant immune defences), polyphenols (protection against predators) and polysaccharides (nutrient suppliers) as well as phytoestrogens.

Siberian ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus)
• Siberian ginseng is also called taiga root, presumably because it comes from north-east Asia and mainly grows there in Siberia. In contrast to Panax ginseng, Siberian ginseng does not contain ginsenosides, but so-called eleutherosides.
• Apart from eleutherosides (lignans, coumarins, phenyl acid derivatives), the root also contains phytosterols, steroid glycosides, flavonoids, polysaccharides and caffeic acid derivatives as well as chlorogenic acid
