• The medicinal product Pyrantelum Owix 250mg/5ml is an oral suspension with an apricot flavor. It is a drug intended for use in children and adults in the case of roundworm infections, including human roundworm or pinworms.

Pyrantelum Owix Composition:

Active substance: pyrantel. 5ml of oral suspension contains pyrantel (in the form of pyrantel embonate) - 250mg and other ingredients: sodium benzoate (E 211), carmellose sodium, sorbitol 70% (E 420), glycerol, aluminum-magnesium silicate, polysorbate 80, povidone, apricot flavor, simethicone emulsion, citric acid monohydrate, sodium hydroxide, purified water.

Action:

The active substance contained in Pyrantelum 250mg/5ml, pyrantel, affects the muscles of intestinal parasites (roundworms). When the parasites are immobilized, intestinal movements cause their removal. The advantage of using pyrantel is, among others, the fact that it does not irritate the intestines and does not contribute to the movement of worms. The drug works on parasites in the early stages and on their mature forms, but does not show any effect on larvae during their migration in tissues.

The medicinal product Pyrantelum 250mg/5 ml oral suspension is indicated for use in intestinal roundworm infections: pinworm, human roundworm, duodenal hookworm, American hookworm. Intended for use in children and adults.

Additional information:

Store the product out of reach of children, at room temperature. Caution is recommended when using the drug in children under 2 years of age, in people with liver disorders, in malnourished patients, in patients with anemia. The drug contains sorbitol (5 ml of the drug contains 3.06 g of sorbitol 70%), which may cause a mild laxative effect. People with intolerance to some sugars should report this to their doctor.

Contraindications:

Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the drug. Do not use in case of using piperazine, as well as during the treatment of myasthenia (skeletal muscle disease). It is not recommended for use in pregnant or lactating women.
