Honey bees discovered the resin coatings of young buds of deciduous and coniferous trees as the raw material for propolis. When mixed with the body's own secretion, a high-quality substance is created that the bee colony has been able to use to protect itself from bacteria, viruses and fungi up to the present day.
Sage, the classic among medicinal plants, has a long history: around 8,000 years ago, the Egyptians dedicated a special character to the plant. The name Salvia is derived from the Latin "salvare = heal". In ancient times, the leaves of the sage were a symbol of eternal life and were considered a "miracle cure" for almost all cold symptoms. Sage also had a permanent place in European monastery gardens in the Middle Ages, where it was one of the 24 selected medicinal plants. Today, sage is used primarily for its positive properties in the throat and pharynx.
