Nystatin acis ® Paste
Active ingredient: Nystatin.
Indications:
Skin infection with nystatin-sensitive yeasts such as diaper dermatitis.

Status: 12/2024
Fungal infections in the genital and anus area are often perceived as particularly unpleasant, but are nevertheless frequently taboo. They can also occur in men, but women are affected much more frequently, which is why vaginal candidiasis is the focus of genital candidiasis.
Risk factors such as tight or synthetic clothing, intimate sprays or vaginal douches, pregnancy, treatment with antibiotics or immunosuppressants, use of high-dose oral contraceptives, diabetes mellitus and HIV favor infection.
Symptoms include intense itching or burning of the vulva and vagina, accompanied by “quark-like” discharge (fluor genitalis), which may or may not be present.
Those affected want quick relief; Nystatin acis ® ointment is recommended as a semi-solid preparation for the treatment of external vaginal mycosis. Nystatin acis ® ointment contains no water and is therefore lipophilic. Nevertheless, it is easy to spread, adheres very well, and, due to the lack of water, has a long shelf life even without preservatives.
Nystatin acis ® ointment is used to relieve the symptoms of Candida mycoses of the skin (e.g., perianal and genital mycosis).
• Easy to spread and sufficiently adheres to the skin
• Minimal absorption
• Also suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding
• Well tolerated
