MucoClear Protect

Purpose:
MucoClear Protect is a sterile, preservative-free single-dose inhalation solution. MucoClear Protect thins mucus in the lungs, making it easier to cough up. This facilitates mucus clearance (self-cleaning function of the lungs), making breathing easier. Furthermore, MucoClear Protect stabilizes the mucous membranes and reduces inflammation in respiratory diseases:

• The Ectoin Hydro Complex causes physical stabilization of mucous membranes, cell membranes, extracellular proteins and other macromolecules and reduces inflammatory processes in the lungs.
• The ionic bonds in the mucous membranes are broken, so that the mucus is liquefied.
• Water from the underlying layers of the mucous membrane is transported to the surface of the mucous membranes. This moistens the mucous membranes and reduces swelling of the airway walls.
• Coughing is stimulated, helping to clear the bronchi of mucus (sputum) and thus relieve constriction of the airways.

Indications:
MucoClear Protect inhalation therapy relieves symptoms in patients with bronchiolitis, acute bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, asthma (allergic and non-allergic), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and allergic reactions of the respiratory tract caused by inhaling allergens such as dust or pollen.

Instructions for use:
MucoClear Protect can be used with any nebulizer. Follow the device manufacturer's instructions for use. Inhalation therapy with MucoClear Protect is typically administered at a dosage of 5 ml (one ampoule). Use MucoClear Protect after consulting your healthcare professional.

Warnings or precautions:

• Keep out of reach of children.
• Since no preservatives are included, for reasons of hygiene (risk of contamination and infection), opened ampoules must be used immediately and disposed of after use.
• Do not use the product after the expiry date.
• Do not use the product if the ampoule is damaged.
• Do not store the product above 25°C.
• Discontinue treatment in case of bronchospasm or persistent cough and seek medical advice.
• Do not use this product with other medications without first consulting your doctor.
• In very sensitive patients, use should be as directed by a doctor, as prior use of a bronchodilator may be necessary.
• Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.

Undesirable side effect:

• Bronchospasms and persistent cough.
• Inform the manufacturer and the relevant national regulatory authority if you experience any serious adverse reactions associated with the use of the product.

Composition:
Sterile 3% sodium chloride solution and ectoine.
