For use in constipation and for defecation during rectal examinations.

  • The medicine is a laxative.
  • The drug is intended for use in constipation and for emptying the bowels before rectal examinations (rectoscopy examinations of the rectum); to soften the stool in haemorrhoids and anal fissures (painful tears in the skin or mucous membrane in the anal area).

dosage

  • Unless otherwise prescribed, always use the medicine exactly according to these instructions.
  • Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

    • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
      • If necessary, 1 suppository is inserted into the intestine 1 to 2 times a day, about 20 to 30 minutes before the intended evacuation.
    • Since constipation in small and very small children requires medical clarification, please consult the doctor in these cases before use.

 

  • duration of use
    • The drug may only be used for short periods without medical advice. Consult a doctor if you have chronic constipation or persistent anal discomfort.
    • Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the medicine is too strong or too weak.

 

  • If you use more of the medicine than you should
    • Overdose and poisoning from rectal use have not been reported to date.
    • An overdose can lead to diarrhea and possible irritation in the anal area.

 

  • If you have any further questions on the use of the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

  • To remove a suppository, after bending the perforation several times, tear it off the strip or separate it with the help of scissors. The loosely attached foil sheets on the tip of the suppository are grasped with the thumb and forefinger of each hand and carefully pulled apart (until the suppository can be removed from the foil cover).
  • The suppository is best moistened and carefully inserted deep into the anus.
  • To improve gliding properties, it can be warmed in the hand or briefly immersed in hot water.
