In addition to ten percent tannins, the leaves also contain ingredients such as β-sitosterol, maslenic acid, guaiavolic acid and 0.3 percent essential oil.

Directions:
Place guava leaves in a tea infuser. To preserve the valuable ingredients and ensure they are not destroyed, use hot water no more than 80°C. Steep the tea for 5 to 10 minutes for the best flavor. The tea can be enhanced with honey, lemon juice, or mint.
