Dorminox Insomnia 12.5 mg 20 tablets

Dorminox is a medicine

containing the active substance doxylamine. Doxylamine belongs to the group of antihistamines with hypnotic and sedative effects.
The medicine is used for the short-term, symptomatic treatment of occasional insomnia in adults, especially in the case of:
- difficulty falling asleep,
- frequent nighttime awakenings,
- early morning waking due to stress or time zone changes.

Composition:

Each tablet contains 12.5 mg of doxylamine hydrochloride succinate. Excipients with known effects: sunset yellow lake (E 110), cochineal red lake (E 124), and sodium. Each film-coated tablet contains 0.006 mg of sunset yellow lake (E 110), 0.20 mg of cochineal red lake (E 124), 0.15 mg (0.006 mmol) of sodium.

Dorminox

is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age and should not be used in this group of patients. If you take more Dorminox than recommended, consult a doctor immediately.

Use:

The recommended starting dose is 12.5 mg (1 tablet) taken 30 minutes before bedtime.
The dose can be increased to 25 mg (2 tablets) if the initial dose does not provide sufficient relief from insomnia symptoms. Do not take more than 2 tablets (25 mg) per day. This medicine should not be used for longer than 7 days without consulting a doctor.
Before taking doxylamine, make sure you have enough time to sleep (8 hours) to avoid drowsiness the next morning. If you feel drowsy during the day, it is recommended to take the dose earlier to ensure at least an 8-hour interval between taking the medicine and waking up, or if you have taken a dose of 25 mg, reduce the dose the next time to 12.5 mg (1 tablet). Swallow the tablets half an hour before bedtime with a sufficient amount of fluid (e.g., a glass of water). You can take this medicine with or after food.
The score line on the tablet is only to facilitate breaking for easier swallowing, not to divide it into equal doses.

Note:

Dorminox may significantly affect your ability to drive or use machines because it causes drowsiness. During the first few days of treatment, until you know how Dorminox affects you, you should not drive or operate machinery.
