The medicinal product Heviran Comfort Max 0.4g acyclovir, for herpes virus is an antiviral drug. The active substance used in the drug is acyclovir. The mechanism of its action is based on the inhibition of multiplication of Herpes viruses which are pathogenic for humans.

Composition of Heviran Comfort Max acyclovir, for herpes virus 0.4g:

Active ingredient: acyclovir (Aciclovirum). Each tablet contains 400 mg of acyclovir and excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A), magnesium stearate.

Operation of Heviran for herpes virus Comfort Max acyclovir 0.4 g:

Heviran Comfort Max acyclovir 0.4g for herpes virus is a medicinal product with antiviral activity. Acyclovir, the active substance in the drug, inhibits the multiplication of Herpes viruses. The indication for the use of the drug is the prevention of recurrence of herpes simplex in adults with normal immunity. The preparation can only be used in people who have been diagnosed with herpes simplex virus infection in the past.

Application:
The medicinal product Heviran Comfort Max acyclovir, for herpes virus 0.4 g is indicated for the prevention of recurrence of herpes simplex in adults with normal immunity. The drug should be used only in the case of people who have previously been diagnosed with herpes simplex virus infection.

Additional information:
Store the product out of reach of children, at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against moisture and light. Do not use in people with impaired kidney function, in people who use other drugs that can damage the kidneys, in the elderly, in people who have experienced particularly severe recurrent cold sores or particularly severe recurrent herpes of the external genitalia without consulting a doctor, as well as in the case of frequent (more than 6 in a year) and longer (after 5 days of therapy no positive treatment effects) than before recurrences of herpes, with more severe clinical symptoms (e.g. when new outbreaks of infection). Do not use the drug in people with reduced immunity.

Do not use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding: consult your doctor, avoiding the use of the drug during pregnancy (use only when, in the doctor's opinion, the benefit for the mother outweighs the risk to the fetus). Aciclovir passes into breast milk, therefore the drug should not be taken during breastfeeding. This medicine contains sodium - less than 1mmol (23mg) sodium per tablet, which means that the medicine is essentially 'sodium-free'

Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.

Side effects:
Some people may experience side effects while taking the drug. If the following symptoms occur, a doctor should be consulted immediately (rarely): shortness of breath, angioedema (e.g. swelling of the face, tongue and trachea causing breathing problems), anaphylactic reaction (itching, hives, shortness of breath, drop in blood pressure, increased beating) hearts). Other side effects - common: headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, itching, rash (including photosensitivity), fatigue, fever.

Uncommon: hives, accelerated diffuse hair loss. Very rare: agitation, tremor, impaired coordination, speech disorder, confusion, hallucinations, psychotic symptoms, brain damage (encephalopathy), seizures, somnolence, coma, hepatitis and jaundice, acute kidney failure, kidney pain (may be associated with kidney failure; kidney failure usually disappears quickly with a patient replenished fluids and / or dose reduction or drug discontinuation).

Dosage of Heviran Comfort Max 0.4g tablets:

Use the drug as prescribed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the leaflet. It is necessary to increase the fluid intake while taking the drug, which will avoid the risk of kidney damage and reduce the likelihood of side effects. Swallow the tablets with a drink of water. Adults: use one tablet twice a day - every 12 hours.

Without prior consultation with a doctor, the preparation can be used for a maximum of one month, especially during the period of exposure to factors causing recurrences of herpes (e.g. increased exposure to sunlight, stress, fever). If there is no improvement or deterioration after a month, a doctor should be consulted. Use in people with impaired renal function: it is necessary to drink plenty of fluids; for people with severe renal impairment.
