      • Commonly affects 1 to 10 out of 100 people
      • Occasionally 1 to 10 out of 1,000 people
      • Rarely affects 1 to 10 users in 10,000
      • Very rarely less than 1 in 10,000 people treated
      • Not known frequency cannot be estimated from the available data
    • possible side effects
      • skin
        • Very rare: allergic reactions when used on the skin, such as reddening of the skin and itching, which usually disappear quickly after discontinuation of the preparation.
        • The drug should be discontinued if allergic skin reactions occur. Please inform your doctor about this. No further measures are necessary.
      • Blood and hematopoietic system
        • Not known: The frequency of occurrence of heparin-induced, antibody-mediated thrombocytopenia type II (reduction in the number of blood platelets <100,000 / µl or a rapid decrease in the number of platelets to <50% of the initial value), with arterial and venous thromboses or embolisms that are fatal has not yet been investigated when applied locally to the skin. However, since the absorption of heparin after topical application through healthy skin has been described, this risk cannot be excluded with certainty. Increased vigilance is therefore indicated.
        • In patients with no impending hypersensitivity to heparin, the platelet count usually begins to decrease 6-14 days after the start of treatment. In patients with hypersensitivity to heparin, this decrease may occur within hours.
