Indication / application

• The drug belongs to the group of laxatives (remedies for constipation).
• The medicine is used for constipation and painful bowel movements.

GLYCILAX Glycerol suppository for children dosage

• Always use the medicine exactly as directed. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is:
    • If necessary, insert 1-2 suppositories.

• Duration of application:
  • If constipation is persistent or persistent, it is advisable to consult a doctor who will then decide on further treatment.
  • Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the medicine is too strong or too weak.

• If you use more medicine than you should:

• For insertion into the anus.
• The suppositories may be wrapped up and briefly held under cold water before use.
• Insert the suppository with the tapered end as deep as possible into the anus and let it work for at least 1 hour.

• When using the drug with other drugs:
  • The uptake of other drugs that are administered rectally at the same time may be reduced by the drug. You should therefore use other suppositories or enemas at different times.

• The drug must not be used
  • if there is an obstruction in the intestines.
  • if your child is hypersensitive (allergic) to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.

  • in the case of unexplained abdominal pain (e.g. if appendicitis is suspected). Then it is
    necessary to consult a doctor.
  • Further information on the use of the drug
    • Constipation can be the result of poor eating habits or lifestyle (e.g. too little exercise, insufficient fluid intake, low-fiber diet).
    • The drug treatment of constipation should only be carried out if dietary measures or lifestyle changes have not been sufficiently successful.
