  • 1760 mg sucrose

  • The preparation has an antiallergic and anti-inflammatory effect.
  • The preparation is used for:
    • Food allergies that are not treatable by avoiding the offending food.
  • A notice:
    • The preparation is not suitable for the treatment of acute asthma attacks or other acute symptoms caused by a food allergy.

  • Always use the preparation exactly as directed. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
    • Adults and adolescents from the age of 15 take the contents of one sachet of the preparation (corresponding to a total of 800 mg sodium cromoglicate) four times a day.
    • Dosage forms with a lower active ingredient content are available for children.
    • If necessary, the dose in adults can be increased to 2-3 sachets of the preparation four times a day. However, a daily dose of 10 sachets (equivalent to 2 g sodium cromoglicate) should not be exceeded.
    • Note: This medicinal product contains 1.76 g sucrose in 1 sachet. If the dosage instructions are observed, up to 1.76 g (0.14 BU) of sucrose are added with each application.
    • When the desired effect has set in, the dose can be gradually reduced to the level necessary to maintain freedom from symptoms.

 

  • The duration of the usage will be decided by the medicating doctor.
  • Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the preparation is too strong or too weak.

 

  • If you take more of the medicine than you should:
    • Symptoms of poisoning are not yet known for sodium cromoglicate.

 

  • If you forget to take the medicine:
    • If you forget to use the preparation, no special measures are required. Continue the therapy as normal. There is no point in taking double the amount next time.
    • Please note, however, that the optimal effect is only achieved with regular use.

 

  • If you stop taking the drug
    • If you interrupt the treatment or end it prematurely, you must expect that the typical symptoms of your disease will soon appear again.

 

  • If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

  • Consume 15-30 minutes before meals. Pour the contents of the sachet into a glass of water, stir briefly and drink the solution. It is advisable to rinse the mouth several times before swallowing, as this can have a local effect on the oral mucosa.
  • The preparation should be used at the same time intervals as possible, ie in the morning, at noon, in the afternoon and in the evening.

  • Like all medicines, the preparation can have side effects, but these do not necessarily occur in everyone treated.

      • Very rare: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain.
    • Skeletal muscle, connective tissue and bone diseases:

      • Frequency not known: hypersensitivity reactions with skin rash, reddening of the skin (flushing), itching, swelling of the skin and mucous membranes, hives
      • Very rare: severe generalized anaphylactic reactions with narrowed airways (bronchospasm, laryngeal oedema).

  • When taking the preparation with other medicines
    • Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using or have recently taken/used other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.
    • Interactions with other medicines are not known.

Contraindications

  • The drug must not be taken
    • if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to sodium cromoglicate or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.

  • pregnancy
    • There are no indications of a teratogenic effect of the preparation, neither from animal studies nor from previous experience with humans. Nevertheless, for fundamental reasons, you should only use the preparation during pregnancy if the doctor deems it necessary.
  • lactation
    • The active ingredient in the preparation passes into breast milk in small amounts.
    • Therefore, you should only use the preparation during breastfeeding if the doctor deems it necessary.

patient notes

  • Particular caution is required when taking the preparation in the following cases:
    • If you have had a life-threatening allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock) after eating food in the past, you should definitely refrain from eating the food in question during treatment with the preparation.
  • children
    • The use of the preparation cannot yet be recommended for infants in the first two months of life (correspondingly longer for premature babies).
    • The preparation is not suitable for the initial treatment of children. Other dosages (100 mg) are available for this.

 

  • Driving and using machines
    • There are no special precautions required.
