Areas of use
Antiseptic local treatment for injuries to the external skin and genital mucous membranes and for use in wound cavities. Can be used as a local antiseptic for penile prolapse and preputial injuries (eg guinea pigs). Has an antimicrobial effect, eg for footpad diseases and wound colonization after abscess splitting.
Contraindications
Do not use in animals used for food production.
Side effects
In rare cases, allergic skin reactions can occur, especially under the influence of sunlight.

Small rodents, ferrets, ornamental or songbirds, carrier pigeons, terrarium animals and rabbits that are not used for food production
Dosage for each animal species, type and duration of application
For use on the skin and mucous membranes.
Apply ethacridine ointment evenly to the affected areas or into wound cavities. The duration of application depends on the therapeutic need; at least 3 days is recommended. The treatment can be repeated after 7 days. Before use, warming the ointment to 25-30°C is advantageous for better distribution.
