Electrolyte Infusion Solution 148 with Glucose 1 Paediatric

Composition: 1 l contains: Active ingredients: Sodium chloride 6.429 g, Potassium chloride 0.298 g, Calcium chloride dihydrate 0.147 g, Magnesium chloride hexahydrate 0.203 g, Sodium acetate trihydrate 4.082 g, Glucose monohydrate 11 g (≙ mmol/l: Na+ 140, K+ 4, Ca2+ 1, Mg2+ 1, Cl- 118, Acetate ions 30, Glucose 55.5). Other ingredients: Water for injection, Hydrochloric acid 36%.

Indications: Perioperative plasma-isotonic fluid and electrolyte replacement in newborns, infants, and young children with partial coverage of carbohydrate requirements; short-term intravascular volume replacement; isotonic dehydration; carrier solution for compatible electrolyte concentrates and medications.

Contraindications: Fluid overload. Side effects: No side effects are expected when used as directed. As with all intravenously administered drugs, local reactions due to the method of administration cannot be ruled out. These may include fever, infection at the injection site, venous thrombosis, injection site phlebitis, and extravasation.
