CROMO STULLN UD eye drops

  • The preparation is a medicine against allergic conjunctivitis (antiallergic).

How does the active ingredient in the drug work?

The active ingredient protects against an allergic reaction of the mucous membranes by stabilizing the outer shell of certain cells, so-called mast cells. If foreign substances such as pollen or animal dander penetrate the body and attach themselves to the shell of a mast cell, it opens and a large number of the body's own messenger substances escape. These messenger substances activate the body's own defense mechanisms and as a result the affected mucous membranes become inflamed. Cromoglicic acid prevents this escape.
However, the effect can only be used preventively; an acute attack cannot be treated with the substance.
