INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: INFORMATION FOR THE USER

Cartilago/Mandragora comp., Unguentum, ointment

Composition:
10 g contain: Antimonite Trit. D4 0.1 g, Argentum metallicum Dil. D6 0.1 g, Betula pendula ferm 34e Dil. D1 0.1 g, Cartilago articularis bovis Gl Dil. D3 0.1 g (HAB, Vs. 41b), Mandragora officinarum e radice ferm 34d Dil. D1 0.1 g (HAB, Vs. 34d). Other ingredients: Refined peanut oil, sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, white petrolatum, purified water, lanolin. Contains peanut oil and lanolin.

Indications:
According to anthroposophical understanding of man and nature. These include: Deforming arthrosis (arthrosis deformans) in the inflammatory stage, primary chronic, deforming joint inflammation (polyarthritis).

Contraindications:
Cartilago/Mandragora comp., Unguentum must not be used:

  • on damaged skin.
  • if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the active ingredients, peanut or soy or any of the other ingredients.



Precautions for use and warnings:
Lanolin may cause localized skin irritation (e.g., contact dermatitis).

Dosage and method of application:
Unless otherwise prescribed, rub the affected joints 1 to 2 times daily, depending on their size and surrounding area, with:

  • a 2 cm long strip of ointment on the large joints (e.g. knee, hip, ankle).
  • a strip of ointment approximately 0.5 cm long on the small joints (e.g. fingers, toe joints).


The amount of ointment should be reduced for children according to their body size.

Application as an ointment dressing:
Depending on the size of the joint, a 0.5 to 2 cm long strip of ointment is applied to the skin and covered with a thin cloth. The thin cloth is secured with an (elastic) bandage or, depending on the joint, with a stocking.

Duration of use:
Treatment of an acute illness should be completed after 2 weeks. If no improvement occurs within 2 days, consult a doctor. The duration of treatment of chronic illnesses requires consultation with a doctor.

Side effects:
In rare cases, severe allergic reactions may occur in cases of hypersensitivity to the components of Cartilago/Mandragora comp., Unguentum, particularly peanut oil. If skin reddening occurs, possibly accompanied by itching, please discontinue use of Cartilago/Mandragora comp., Unguentum and consult your doctor if necessary.
