Use/Application/Recommended intake:
For the dietary management of premature infants with increased growth requirements. For oral feeding of your baby from a body weight of 1,800 g to approximately 5 kg.
Preparation:
When preparing Aptamil PDF, carefully follow the instructions for use. Improper preparation and storage can lead to health problems due to the growth of unwanted bacteria. Prepare the formula fresh for each feeding and feed immediately. Do not reuse leftover formula. Thoroughly clean the bottle, teat, and ring. Do not heat formula in a microwave (risk of overheating).
- Allow freshly boiled drinking water to cool to approximately 40°C and add 2/3 of the required amount of water to the bottle.
- For accurate powder measurement, level off the enclosed measuring spoon with the back of a knife. Use only the enclosed measuring spoon.
- Pour the required amount of powder into the bottle. Close the bottle and shake vigorously, add the remaining drinking water and shake the bottle contents vigorously again.
- Open the bottle and attach the teat. Check the bottle contents are at drinking temperature (approx. 37°C).
Dosage:
The number and amount of formula given per bottle vary individually. The average intake is 150-170 ml/kg body weight per day. Please use only the enclosed measuring spoon, which holds approximately 5.1 g when level.
