ALMOTRIPTAN Heumann for migraines Indication / application

  • The drug is a migraine drug that belongs to a group of substances known as selective serotonin receptor agonists. It is believed that the preparation reduces the inflammatory response in migraines by attaching to the serotonin receptors in the blood vessels in the brain (cranial blood vessels) and thereby causing them to narrow.
  • It is used to relieve headache from migraine attacks, with or without aura.

  • Only take the product to treat an actual migraine attack and not to prevent migraines or headaches.
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • Adults (18-65 years)
    • The recommended dose is one 12.5 mg tablet to be taken as soon as possible after the onset of the migraine attack. If your migraine attack does not go away, do not take more than one tablet for the same attack.
    • If a second migraine attack occurs within 24 hours, a second 12.5 mg tablet can be taken, but at least 2 hours must have elapsed between your first and your second tablet.
    • The maximum daily dose is two (12.5 mg) tablets within 24 hours.
    • The medicine should be taken as soon as possible after the onset of the migraine headache. However, it is also effective when taken later in the migraine attack.
  • Severe kidney disease
    • If you have severe kidney disease, do not take more than one 12.5 mg tablet in a 24 hour period.

  • If you take more than you should
