Beta-carotene is converted into vitamin A in the body. Vitamin A plays a role in cell specialization and, together with vitamin C, selenium and zinc, supports the normal function of the immune system. Vitamins C and E, selenium and zinc help protect cells from oxidative stress. Zinc also plays a role in cell division.
