Acatar Allergy nasal spray

Acatar Allergy nasal spray contains the active substance azelastine hydrochloride. It is an antihistamine drug indicated, inter alia, in the treatment of the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis.

Composition of Acatar Allergy:

The active substance is azelastine hydrochloride (Azelastini hydrochloridum). 1 ml contains 1 mg of azelastine hydrochloride and excipients: hypromellose 2910, disodium edetate, anhydrous citric acid, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride and purified water

Action of Acatar Allergy:

Azelastine hydrochloride is an active substance from a group of medicines whose mechanism of action is to prevent the action of histamine (antihistamines) and other substances produced by the body during an allergic reaction (which causes symptoms such as runny nose, itching, sneezing, and stuffy nose). Acatar Allergy nasal spray is intended for use by both adults and adolescents, and children over 6 years of age. The indication for use of the drug is the symptomatic treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis and exacerbations of non-seasonal allergic rhinitis.

Application:
Acatar Allergy is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis and exacerbations of non-seasonal allergic rhinitis. For use in children over 6 years of age, adolescents and adults.

Additional information:
Store the product out of reach of children at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against the effects of moisture and light. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding: the possibility of use should be discussed with your doctor, however, in the first trimester, the use of the drug is not recommended, and should not be used during breastfeeding. In the event of the occurrence of side effects such as weariness, fatigue, weakness, dizziness, do not drive or operate machinery. Alcohol and other medicines can increase the effect of Acatar Allergy nasal spray.

Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Do not use in children under 6 years of age.

Side effects:
Some people may experience side effects while taking the drug. Common: An unpleasant taste may develop in the mouth after administration (usually due to incorrect administration method - tilting the head too much backwards during administration), which may sometimes lead to nausea. Uncommon: nasal discomfort related to the inflamed nasal mucosa (burning, itching), sneezing, epistaxis. Rare: nausea. Very rare: fatigue (weariness, exhaustion), dizziness or weakness (may also be a symptom of an illness), hypersensitivity reactions, rash, itching, hives.

Acatar Allergy nasal spray dosage:

Use as directed by your doctor or according to the directions on the leaflet. Adults, adolescents, children over 6 years of age: the recommended dose - one spray (0.14 ml) in each nostril, twice a day (0.56 mg azelastine hydrochloride). Before application, blow your nose with your head upright, spray the medicine into the nostril. Do not tilt your head back. After application, wipe the tip of the pump, put on the protective cap. Before the first use, remove the protection and press the pump several times (3-4 times) until the preparation is evenly sprayed. After three days of using the drug, when symptoms persist or worsen, consult a doctor. Do not use for more than 4 weeks without consulting a doctor.
