Relieves dry, watery* eyes

Dry eyes are one of the most common complaints - millions of people suffer from them. ³ Dry eyes occur when either the quantity or the quality of the tear fluid is insufficient and the tears evaporate too quickly. The result is dry and irritated eyes that burn, hurt or are red. Watery eyes can also be a result of dry eyes: In order to reduce the friction of the eyelids on the poorly moistened surface of the eye, the tear glands produce a higher quantity of tear fluid than is actually needed. The excess amount then runs over the edge of the eyelid - and the eye begins to water. Special eye drops such as Systane ^® BALANCE wetting drops are suitable for treating dry, watery eyes. The lipid-containing drops retain moisture in watery eyes and relieve the discomfort. Unique formulation

Systane ^® BALANCE contains a unique formulation with the LipiTech™ system and HP-Guar (hydroxypropyl-guar). The special ingredients supplement the protective lipid layer of the tear fluid and the thickness of the lipid layer increases. The tear film is thus stabilized for a long time and the surface of the eye is moistened. ^{1 Systane ®} BALANCE lubricating drops thus offer your eyes long-lasting relief from the discomfort. Patients with melbomian gland dysfunction (MDD) suffer from lipid deficiency. Systane ^® BALANCE lubricating drops help to build up the lipid layer. ⁴


RECOMMENDED USE

SYSTANE ^® BALANCE can be used daily as needed. Wash your hands before using eye drops.

Open the bottle without touching the dropper tip. Hold the bottle between your thumb and fingers with the opening facing downwards. Tilt your head slightly back, look upwards and pull the lower eyelid away with your index finger. Apply

light pressure to the bottom of the Drop-Tainer ^® bottle and drip 1 drop into the conjunctival sac from above, without letting the tip of the bottle come into contact with the eye or the edge of the eyelid. Then blink.

DRY EYE SYMPTOMS

Possible symptoms of dry eyes include: foreign body sensation (“grain of sand sensation”), burning, pain, redness, rapid “tiredness” of the eyelids, “sticky eyelids” in the morning, watery eyes or visual disturbances. The tear film protects and nourishes the surface of the eye, keeps it moist and ensures clear vision. With each blink of the eyelid, a thin layer of tears is distributed over the surface of the eye. This tear film forms a protective layer that makes the surface of the eye slippery and washes out impurities. TIPS FOR DRY EYES ³

By making a few changes in your everyday life, you can prevent the acute onset of dry eyes and relieve the symptoms. This includes avoiding air currents that hit the eyes directly, e.g. when blow-drying hair, from the air conditioning in the car or in the office. It is also a good idea to control the humidity in rooms and use a humidifier if necessary. If you are reading or working in front of a screen for a long time, it is advisable to take regular breaks. A healthy diet with a sufficient intake of omega-3 fatty acids can also be useful.

Can I use Systane ^® BALANCE eye drops if I wear contact lenses?
With Systane ^{® BALANCE, it is recommended that you use the drops before and after wearing contact lenses. Other Systane ®} products such as Systane ^® ULTRA and Systane ^® HYDRATION can be used while wearing contact lenses. Do you need to use Systane ® BALANCE eye drops?

^® products be stored in the refrigerator?
No. All Systane ^® products can be stored at room temperature.

Is the milky white color of Systane ^® BALANCE normal?
Yes. Systane ^® BALANCE is an emulsion. This means that the ingredients do not mix completely with each other. This results in the milky white color of the drops.

Why do I have to shake the bottle of Systane ^® BALANCE before use?
Systane ^® BALANCE is an emulsion. During storage, the individual ingredients can separate from each other. Shaking ensures that all ingredients are properly distributed before the drops are applied.
