BIO 7 herbal powder according to Heidelberger

The organic 7-herb powder is a herbal tea based on Bertrand Heidelberger's original recipe. It passed on the mixture of burnet, caraway, fennel, juniper, wormwood, anise and yarrow as a result of his 50 years of experience. Each one of the seven herbs and above all the intensive interaction of the individual bitter substances can have a beneficial effect on the organism. We recommend Heidelberger's 7-herb powder after heavy meals, when feeling full, after alcohol consumption and for daily digestion support.

The original recipe contains:

  • Burnet: The name probably derives from the medieval word "pimpinella" and the coumarin derivative pippilin is a key ingredient. Because of the spicy smell and the pungent taste, it is also called pepper herb.
  • Cumin: Cumin is one of the oldest spices. A distinction is made between Roman cumin (Cuminum cyminum) and the native caraway (Carum carvi) used here.
  • Fennel: There is the sweet and the bitter fennel used here. Pepper or donkey fennel, which is still wild today, was used as a spice in ancient times and later in the Middle Ages.
  • Juniper: The most important pharmacologist of antiquity, Dioscurides, mentions juniper in his writings. The Latin name of the cypress plant Juniperus means "berries of Juno".
  • Wormwood: Wormwood is mentioned as early as in the Ebers Papyrus of the Egyptians, but also in Dioscorides and Pliny. The plant was used in a variety of ways, but above all it has been used as a popular bitter remedy for the stomach and intestines.
  • Aniseed: Aniseed is a very old cultivated plant and already had a long tradition in the early advanced civilizations. Even today, aniseed has a high priority in scientifically based phytotherapy.
  • Yarrow: The yarrow has been held in high esteem since ancient times. In old herbal books it is referred to as "healing from all harm". The Latin name "Achillea millefolium" comes from a legend related to Achilles, who was instructed in its use by the centaur Cheiron.

Preparation:

For a cup of herbal tea, pour half a teaspoon of 7-herb powder with boiling hot water, let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes and then drink. We recommend drinking one cup of tea in the morning and one in the evening, regardless of meals. You get used to the bitter taste after a short time.
